Yam! Interview - Translation (End of October '06)
Yam: Your new single is called "I Don't Need A Man". Are you serious about that?
Nicole: We want men! And we love men! But we need our own anthem for independent and strong girls! That's the point: Powergirls! We don't need men to survive...
Melody: That's right. It means that we are strong without boys as well.
Yam: What is more important - your friendship or a relationship with a man.
Carmit: Friendship is on any account more important. That's where all begins, even in the love. Before you go to bed with somebody, there should be a friendship as basis. When you can't see each other in the eyes, then it makes no sense.
Yam: Wich requirements does a man need, to win your hearts?
Ashley: Of course he must have rhythm in the blood! He could be the most pretty man in the world... Once there was a boy in my highschool, who was really hot. Everyone wanted to date him. Then I saw him on the dancefloor of a party and he hadn't got a bit of rhythm! After that I went home, because this only turned me off.
Carmit: You don't even have to dance really good. It depends on how you move!
Jessica: You can still save something with humour. Don't take yourself too seriously!
Yam: Nicole, recently you kissed 50 Cent - on the lips...
Nicole: Oh, really? Where has this been?
Yam: At the MTV Video Music Awards Aftershow-Party.
Nicole: Aftershow-Party? No, I would never do that (laughs)! But 50 Cent is like a brother to me, a really good friend! We just won this great Moonman and after that I stormed out of the the stage. Fifty sat in the audience, looked at me and said "Hey girl!". In the showbiz it's normal, that you kiss everyone you meet!
Yam: Really everybody?
Nicole: Yes, otherwise it would be disrespectful. The kiss with 50 Cent was a truly proof for our friendship. There's nothing more.
Carmit: I can witness this! In other places, you welcome each other with a kiss on the left and right on the cheek. That's the same.
Yam: Is it difficult for you to build up a relationship, that exceeds a friendship?
Ashley: We work very hard. There's almost no time for love. It isn't even easy to keep the contact to your family...
Jessica: We must give our private life for our careers! Unfortunately we always have to wait for it. But therefore we have the great luck that we are very successful in our job!
